Kathryn Hawkins is an experienced home economist based in central Scotland. She is a food writer and recipe writer with over 20 cookery books to her credit. She is a member of the Guild of Food Writers. As well as her writing, she is a food stylist and prepares food for photography in magazines, books, advertising and food packaging. Kathryn also teaches and demonstrates on a variety of cookery subjects, and runs tailored cookery courses in your own home. Kathryn travels all over Scotland and beyond for her work. Since moving to Scotland 5 years ago, Kathryn has worked with Nick Nairn, food styling his healthy eating recipes for children in The Scotsman. Kathryn has been working with the Scottish food industry to help promote the wealth of excellent produce on her doorstep. She is involved in product development, recipe development and recipe testing as well as food styling for clients such as Baxters, Shetland Salmon and Quality Meat Scotland. She also acts as a food consultant to large and small food companies and is available for cookery demonstrations and private teaching. Kathryn works with local chefs acting as a restaurant and menu consultant, helping them promote seasonal and local produce in their establishments.
