Her career began in 1989 as a junior food writer on the then newly launched Best magazine. Since 1992, Kathryn has been freelancing and has worked for a wide range of clients in the UK food industry such as Slimming World, SuperCook, Sainsbury, ASDA and Marks and Spencer. Over the years, she has prepared food for hundreds of photographs on food packaging, menus, in magazines and books and also for advertisements.
Kathryn is a former cookery editor of the best-selling women's weekly magazine, Woman’s Own.
In 2004 Kathryn took over a Victorian guest house which has views of the magnificent Ochil Hills near Crieff. From here she is within easy reach of Scotland's major creative cities and is now enjoying working in the Scottish food and publishing industry. With the knowledge and skills she has built up over the years, Kathryn also teaches on a variety of cookery subjects and hopes to inspire the budding Scottish Food Writers and Scottish Food Stylists of the future.
